Do you enjoy working at Romero?

It’s been great fun! I’ve worked here almost five years and to see the company grow from strength to strength is very rewarding.

What’s been your favourite thing about being here?

I like that the company nurtures people who want to succeed and drive the business forward.

What have you found most challenging?

Controlling things outside of my control!

If you had to sum up your role in one sentence, what would it be?

To grow the business whilst making sure each client receives the best possible service.

What has surprised you most about working here?

The family feel of the business. Everyone wants to help each other (it was a nice change coming from a big corporate firm).

What would you like to change about insurance?

The reputation sometimes the industry gets from likes of the media. People forget we help individuals and firms to recover from some of their toughest challenges. That could be a fire at a factory or a home burglary – we’re right there helping our customers at every step of the way.

Where are you in 5 years’ time?

Working hard and keeping out of trouble! I’m not sure, I’ve never really thought about it.

What drives you to succeed?

Personal pride and making a difference.

What’s your perfect Sunday?

A ride out on the motorbike followed by a nice Sunday roast.

If you were a biscuit, what would you be and why?

Hobnob – not too sweet and they don’t fall apart when dunked

What’s your pet hate?

Poor customer service and lack of ownership.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could take one book, one luxury and one song, what would they be?

Any of the Guy Martin books, and for the song I’d have to go for Fleetwood Mac – The Chain. Does a surfboard class as a luxury item?
