Trainees will come out of the internship with a degree certified by the ACII (Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute) as well as the opportunity of a career at Romero. This is a full-paying internship with all qualifications paid for by us, as we are investing in the future generation of insurance broking professionals. It is a huge opportunity for graduates/A-level Students to start their career in the financial sector and at an award-winning independent broker.
What do our trainees do?
To begin your path, you will be one of a cohort of trainees and be introduced to the company. You will each be assigned a specific role and receive on the job training. You will be expected to be immediately involved with day to day tasks and start adding value to the business.
The roles are split into two main routes. These can change and will depend on your unique skills and personal qualities. They include being a Broker or a Claims Handler.
What does a Broker do?
Working as part of a team to engage with businesses and customers. You will need to be technically strong and hold exceptional customer service. The role lends itself to those who are able to quickly build and maintain strong personal relationships. A good broker is able to negotiate and present risks in a favourable manner in order to receive the best cover and price.
Being a broker is ideal for those who can communicate effectively and have great attention to detail. We are looking for tenacious and lively individuals who show an enthusiasm for the role. We will expect you to fully understand how the insurance market works by the end of your programme
What does it mean to be a Claims Handler?
Claims is at the very heart of a great insurance broker; our excellent claims team is what makes Romero Insurance Brokers stand out from the competition. Trainees will be expected to benefit our award-winning team of handlers through their determination and problem-solving skills. Claims handlers need to be able to empathise with clients and use their technical knowledge to find imaginative and well-reasoned solutions.
A good trainee claim handler will be a sponge, soaking up case law and legislation. They will want to dig into problems and express their opinions succinctly, even in the face of authority and contrary points of view.
