Our friend & colleague Jon Land

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that our dear friend and treasured colleague Jon Land passed away in the early hours of Tuesday 8^th December.

Jon was a larger-than-life character, and our colleagues, clients and insurance partners all no doubt knew him well, thanks to his sharp wit, boundless positivity and skill at forming strong and meaningful relationships with the people he worked alongside.

Jon joined me at Romero in 2005, and stood side by side with me as my right hand man. He helped me grow our business enormously, thanks to his hard work and dedication that has brought us to where we are now.

I can say without a shred of doubt that Romero wouldn’t be the business it is today without Jon.

As a passionate cricket fan, Jon played for many years, and remained heavily involved in the sport even after leaving his playing days behind. He dedicated much of his spare time to his local club, Leeds Modernians CC, coaching and fundraising with the same dedication and care he showed to everything else in his life.

My thoughts, and those of the entire Romero Group are with Jon’s family, including his wife Joanne who has also worked with me for many years, and their sons Jack & James.

The family have requested that no flowers are sent, and instead they will be setting up a fundraising page for donations to Leeds Modernians CC to support youth players.

We will share more information on this when it’s available.

Jon meant the world to me, and life truly won’t be the same without him here with us. But alongside everyone at Romero, we’ll forever keep Jon’s memory alive.
